A second language opens so many professional and personal doors for people in life. Exam preparation courses will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need in life and assist newcomers to begin to adapt to their new lives in Canada.
QW Language School prepares students for the IELTS test. It does not matter if it is academic or general writing, as our teaching techniques will familiarize you with exam formats, strategies to complete the test within time, and break complex sections into simple steps. It’s an advanced level test, so students can learn a number of techniques to be successful.
The International English Language Testing System is an internationally recognized test for English proficiency. IELTS test results are recognized by more than 9,000 organizations worldwide, including universities, immigration departments, government agencies, and multinational companies.
The government of Canada designed the CELPIP test as a proficiency level test in the English language with a Canadian content foundation. By appearing in CELPIP, students can determine their eligibility for citizenship or permanent residency in Canada. Achieving good scores on the test will help you in pursuing your life in Canada.
There are two different CELPIP tests: General and LS. The CELPIP General test is mandatory for candidates applying for permanent residency, and contains four modules: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. CELPIP – LS is necessary for test-takers interested in getting citizenship in Canada. QW Language School has faculty that can help students in preparing for the CELPIP-LS, and we recommend students completing the CELPIP preparation course at QW Language School to ensure greater success on the test.
Along with having a second language as a great professional resource, having a proper language test accreditation can serve as a stepping stone to new career opportunities. Today, both the International English Language Testing System [IELTS] and Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program [CELPIP] are recognized as true accomplishments in language proficiency, both in Canada and abroad.
Both IELTS and CELPIP offer an array of opportunities to those seeking to certify themselves in language abilities, including:
Both the IELTS and CELPIP are arranged into week or month long learning sessions, covering the four major components of each:
Students enrolled in the QW Language School Test Preparation course will be expected to attend classes as per their schedules, either online or in person. Teachers will administer assignments and test preparation exercises for students to complete. They will be evaluated and given a certificate upon successful completion.
Students are required to provide their stationery—notepaper, pencils, pens, et al.—but nothing more. Teachers will be provided with sample tests and text information.
Teachers will guide students through whichever test students are keen to achieve in. For IELTS, teachers will describe the outline of the IELTS as designed by Cambridge University and IELTS International. Core strategies will include:
For CELPIP test takers, instructors will ensure that:
Both tests are extensive and require particular instruction to be specific. QW Language School’s staff have experience and certification to teach each course to help them make the most of their time while sitting for their exam.
Test takers will be assessed on how they perform on in-class assignments and how they perform throughout the course. Instructors will provide them feedback on what test-taking skills they do well in and where they can improve.
The purpose of the achievement chart is to:
The achievement chart provides a reference point for all assessment practice and a framework within which achievement will be assessed and evaluated.
